The newest and one of the most ambitious construction projects in the history of New York City is creating the modern, gleaming neighborhood of Hudson Yards from the ashes of what was once the southern part of Hell's Kitchen.

It's not often one gets to see a new neighborhood built from scratch - but that is what is, quite literally, happening on the west side of Manhattan between West 30th and West 40th Streets, the Hudson River and 9th Avenue. Here, a shimmering neighborhood of glass skyscrapers, residential high-rises, parks and shops is being built over the West Side Yards.

Sometimes called Manhattan West, Hudson Yards' influence stretches northward past the Jacob Javits Center, modernizing what was (and in some cases still is) an run-down, industrial section of Hell's Kitchen.

With its one-of-a-kind architecture, state-of-the-art facilities, and unmatched views, Hudson Yards continues to be an exciting and vibrant destination in Manhattan.

Hudson Yards, a neighborhood located in the western part of Manhattan, is home to several famous individuals. One of the most well-known residents is billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Barry Diller, who currently resides in a penthouse in the neighborhood. Other notable individuals who have been associated with Hudson Yards include fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, who once hosted her fashion shows at the now-defunct Space Shuttle Enterprise exhibit, and Heather Hardy, a professional boxer who trains at Gleason's Gym located in the area. With its status as a growing hub of luxury real estate and entertainment, it wouldn't be surprising to see even more high-profile figures calling Hudson Yards home in the coming years.
